Susanne Mitchell
Artist Statement
"My artworks draw from my life experiences and surroundings to explore social systems and power dynamics relating to race, class, gender, and place. The works combine a variety of materials and imagery such as wallpaper, stenciled lace patterns, and painted figurative elements to serve as a lexicon of signifiers, which reference history, socio-economic systems, and home."
